Royal Ashdown Forest Golf Club, founded in 1888, is ranked by
Golf World
as one of the
top 100
clubs in the British Isles.
It has two 18 hole courses - the Old and the West. The Old Course is used by the
R&A
as an
Open Championship Regional Qualifying
venue, hosted the international match between
England and Spain
in 2007 & the
Senior Woman's English Close Amateur Stroke Play Championship
in June 2009. In 2011 the Old Course stages the
Ladies' British Open Amateur Stroke Play Championship
.
