Anderida Golfers of the West Course, a brief history.
Over twenty five years ago, the proprietors of the Ashdown Forest Golf Hotel in Forest Row managed the tee times for what was then known as the Hotel Course and is now the West Course.
In order to attract business to the hotel and, at the same time, provide a facility to aspiring golfers they formed, with the help of local golfers, a golf society called Anderida. Such was the success of the venture that it has grown over the years, surviving various hotel refurbishments and changes of hotel ownership. When the hotel was demolished in 2003, the complete management of the West Course operation moved to the parent Club. Finally gaining recognition by the EGU as affiliated to Royal Ashdown Forest Golf Club, and now called Anderida Golfers, the members enjoy the facilities of the West Course and its new Clubhouse.
Anderida Golfers have their own committee, run their own competitions, inter-club matches and all the usual activities of a thriving group operating an open membership policy. Being limited in the total number of members permitted at any one time, there is usually no problem for their members in booking tee times.
